Hard life in Tyrrel Bay

Yesterday we went to explore the mangrove.

In case of a hurricane this can be a place to tie up Merlin. We were checking the depth on the way ....we could just make it (our draft is 1.3m).

The mangrove swamp was colonised by hundreds of up-side down jellyfish ...and I even knew their name (Cassiopea!!).

Today was a busy day.

There is an optimist program in Tyrrel Bay for the island children. Greg went to teach them some sailing tips. Victor and Felix joined and sailed on their own boat and had lots of fun. However, after few gybes and boom banging Felix thought it wasn't funny any more!

This afternoon we all went ashore with our bikes. This was a big event ... It was my first ride with that bike bought in Cape Town before we left!! It was great to visit the back roads, to ride all together and get some exercise.

...and then we went for a rewarding drink. Clea is really good at ordering.
