The different island

We are in St Maarten since Monday. We picked up our new genoa (the main reason of our visit to the Leeward Islands). We were surprised to notice that Vetus has absolutely no stock as they are the main dealer for the Caribbean. We were hoping to buy some temperature sensors and the chain counter (still under guaranty). We'll have to find another plan - which is a common exercise for a cruiser. Greg is rushing around to have lots of technical issues resolved before we sail South to places without boat shops. He is even trying to do two things at once: driving the dinghy and jumping in the water!

Today, we went to a shopping expedition! The Dutch part of the Island is tax free and full of shops of all kind. We were engulfed by the cruise ships visitors and the electronic/jewellery/alcohol shops. Not a common landscape for us. But we had fun. Even the kids! They went to about 15 shops asking the price of their DS - the boys dream toy.
